Brush Up
To create a training solution for proper brushing techniques, I began by conducting a needs analysis and documenting the conclusions and overall training plan. Click the button below to access the results of the Needs Analysis.
After the Needs Analysis was accepted and/or confirmed by stakeholders, I began the design phase of the project. I created a relatively robust outline - really more of a script - for the proposed module.
Once stakeholders approved the outline and content, I began the development of the module. For purposes of this exercise, I created a prototype of the final module.
The proposed module is an interactive experience, which could be developed as a SCO (for an LMS), as a website, or as an app.

Within the interactive module, videos are used at key intervals - e.g., for feedback and transitions into content. In the demo above, placeholder screens represent each video (see the course outline for scripts for these videos).
These videos could feature a host but (as featured in the prototype below) could alternatively be text/animation based.
Sample "Welcome" video, representing style of videos embedded in module.
The module ends with three calls to action. The first serves as performance support, directing learners to a website that will help them maintain their brushing technique. The second encourages them to schedule a cleaning with their dentist.
The third call to action is a skill check (which also incentivizes learners), where they can upload a video of their brushing technique.
